DIY.....I am Dyeing...with a Vengeance

When I was younger I remember tie-dyeing a t-shirt, unfortunately I can not recall whether it was an epic fail or a piece of art. In the notion of creativity and keeping it OOAK* I tried it again.  This time I used a silk t-shirt that I had made awhile back for another project. (I still have a bag of silk fabric waiting to be turned into something fabulous and have no doubt that will occur soon). Here is my first adult try at dip dyeing a shirt & necklace. The silk held the color a bit better, I think I will re-dye the necklace so that the color is more dense. Im definitely going to be dyeing more, and perhaps I will further home my skills and post a tutorial.

*OOAK="one of a kind", an acronym I have picked up from the crafty.

DIY.... Dip Toe Flats

I am dangerous with paint (not to mention messy).

Extra Paint + Goodwill Bound Skimmers=Dip Toe Flats!
I like them, what do you think?

I simply cleaned off the shoe, and dipped them in paint and hung them to dry. This was my first dip paint experiment, I like how they turned out. I'd definitely use a more durable paint next time, I simply applied a sealer this time to ward off scrapes & scratches.

Back to work

Another beautiful Monday, back to work and I definitely wanted to keep the bright colors going...

Isabel Marant Wedge Sneaker Knock Off

Recently I have been a little obsessed with sneaker wedges, like many my favs are the Isabel Marants but with a price tag tinkering around $700, I just couldnt do it. I did however preorder the Ash Beas, after I saw how quickly the Birdy's went.
So today I was running errands in SOHO when low and behold a Believer was made out of me. Steve Madden has gotten into the game along with a few others (to much fail) and came up with a nice sneaker wedge as well. Lets not kid one another, it is a knock off (SM is kinda known for slightly re-styling a shoe and giving it a consumer friendly price tag). I got mine in black to wear all year long, and of course so it wouldnt compete with my Bea's, Bea's are an original design, at least I think so....but I could be bias.

-Con, there is a wait list.
-Pro, they are $199.
-Pro, SM staff said they have more colors in the works (red or olive would be nice).
-Con/Pro, depends on your geography, to date they are only sold in Soho NYC store.
